11:27pm: Last but certainly not least, to the AFL preseason.

Hawthorn lost both its clashes - against Gold Coast and Brisbane - while the Lions went 2-0 at the visually stunning Carrara Stadium on the south-east Queensland glitter strip.

Hawks coach Alistair Clarkson may not want to sift through the game tape of either match.

Superstar Lance Franklin's high hit on Suns midfielder Matt Shaw in the second half of their opening clash will no doubt come under close scrutiny.

It was a rare moment that Franklin stood out on Saturday night in a rusty Hawthorn outfit.

11:00pm: Meanwhile in domestic cricket, Western Australia is on the brink of an unlikely win after being allowed to take the field for the final day's play tomorrow against Tasmania at the WACA.

The Warriors need just six runs to win, while the Tigers need two wickets, with a result not forthcoming this evening despite 30 minutes being added on to play on day three.

WA did brilliantly to be 8 for 351 after looking like goners for much of the match.

Ashton Agar will resume tomorrow unbeaten on 71. He had a chat with Grandstand's Corbin Middlemas after stumps. Audio: Interview: Ashton Agar(ABC News)
